HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Hofstra’s Kara McEneaney secured the 3-1 Pride victory against Syracuse University Sunday afternoon with an unassisted goal at 56:55. The loss ends SU’s three-game winning streak and drops the Orange to 4-3, while the Pride improve to 5-2.

Late in an evenly-matched first half, McEneaney set up Leslie DeSimone after a penalty corner as Hofstra took the lead with the first goal of the match at 32:37.

Syracuse answered seven minutes later with sophomore forward Alison Babbitt (Spencer, N.Y) scoring with the assist awarded to junior midfielder Gloria Nantulya (Nairobi, Kenya), bringing the score to 2-1.
McEneaney, though, connected on an insurance goal at the 56:55 mark to put Hofstra ahead 3-1.
Hofstra out-shot Syracuse 10-4 and a held an 8-2 edge in penalty corners.
